Good word diggs......
****************************************************************
Hey everyone,
This is probably not news to most of you, but Wednesday Steven Curtis Chapman's youngest daughter was killed in an auto accident at their home. I'd be lying if I said I haven't cried for this family as many of you may have. But I send this to you because I want you, if you haven't already, to watch the video for this song and his explanation for it that follows. Especially fathers!
I know that God gave this song to SCC so that he would treasure the days he had with his daughter because God knew this was coming. Steven's family are great servant's of God and I know he will strengthen them during this time, but we as fathers must take the message of this song and this tragic event and treasure our children and families. No one is promised tomorrow. All of us are so busy providing for our families that we're depriving our families of what matters.
Many people would ask why God lets bad things happen like this. I ask...why does God let good things happen to us? It's clear in the Bible that man has rejected God every chance he had. The lusts of the world lures us away everytime. Without God's grace and providence, we run by nature toward destruction. Our sins have consequences and these consequences have been increasing since the fall of man (Genesis 3). Sin is the reason bad things happen. We are the reasons bad things happen.
Use what may be a final opportunity to turn to God and lead your family toward Him. He is loving and He has great plans for us, but we live now in a fallen world in temporary bodies. Love your spouse. Love your children. Watch this video in it's entirety and realize that God is sovereign and was not the least bit surprised at this tragedy and He will bring great things from it.
