You had me at religion...(happy sob, sniff-sniff) You had me at religion.

(To appreciate the previous sarcasm in it's fullest, flash back to the movie Jerry McGuire)

I thought it was quite interesting, or disturbing maybe. Not sure what word to use, I don't have that impressive a vanucular.

Diggs,

Thanks for raising my blood pressure this morning!

Mike Wilson, pastor of the Tuscaloosa site of the Church of the Highlands, counts himself among that group.

He was baptized a Baptist, served in the UMC ministry for 11 years and is now a nondenominational pastor.

He said part of the appeal of the nondenominational church is the simplicity of the message and the elimination of the political hierarchy of a denomination.

'Our messages are never driven by doctrine or theology,' Wilson said. 'My message should be able to reach a person who walks in the door for the first time who knows nothing about Christianity.'

Hmmmmm..... Let's see what the bible says about DOCTRINE...

Job 11:4
For you have said,‘My doctrine is pure, And I am clean in your eyes.’

Proverbs 4:2
For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.

Mark 7:7
And in vain they worship Me,Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

John 7:16
Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

John 7:17
If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.

Acts 2:42
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Romans 16:17
Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

1 Timothy 1:3
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

1 Timothy 1:10
for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,

1 Timothy 4:6
If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.

1 Timothy 4:13
Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1 Timothy 4:16
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

My message should be able to reach a person who walks in the door for the first time who knows nothing about Christianity.'

"YOUR" message will reach a person who knows nothing about Christianity.

God's message will reach those who care nothing about Christianity.
