So, Arminianism and Calvinism. What do you think? I have questions on both sides. I will be digging through scripture but I was curious on your thoughts. I know there are extremists on both sides and some people just like debate.
Acts 4:12 rings true through both, which is good:
"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." (Jesus Christ)
I know the 5 Points of Calvinism are a response to the 5 Points of Arminianism (or The Five Articles of the Remonstrants which can be read here http://www.ccel.org/s/schaff/encyc/encyc09/htm/iv.vii.cliii.htm.
I'm obviously not 100% committed yet toward either and maybe I shouldn't ponder on it but I do. I have my reasons.

Please don't call yourself either. (not that you are) Understand what I am saying. Align yourself with the scriptures. (as I know that is your goal) I assure you Jesus doesn't care whether you are Arminian or Calvinist. He cares that you have a relationship with Him. Your beliefs will line up with most likely both of these, but not totally with either. Jesus was niether I can assure you.
Yah, listening to some preaching, I felt there was a sense of emphasis being put on being 'a Calvinist' for example. That in itself tends to put Calvin on a pedestal which who I've listened to don't intend to do I don't believe, but the impression is given. Again, it goes to what we've been discussing about listening to a preacher or reading the Bible for one's self. I do dread the day someone wants to call themself a Jasonist.
I myself am a Jesusist and I lean heavily toward the side of Jesusism.
